<Q: Please elaborate on your language policy.>
<Q: What makes a good packaging label? What information should be prioritised?> A trusted logo with a meaningful value that can be colour coded for consumer ease
<Q: Can you describe your approach, or the approach of your organisation, to supporting/point-of-sale information with regard to plastic packaging?> A trusted logo with a meaningful value that can be colour coded for consumer ease
<Q: Are there any examples of labelling that you are especially proud of? If you aren't involved in design, please tell us about some packaging/labelling that you especially like, and why.> Generally speaking consumers are busy people and therefore want a simple colour code - they can trust. Since Seaspiracy on Netflix I believe there is now a lot of cynicism particularly with the younger generation. As such an overhaul is required.
<Q: What information would you wish to be included on packaging labels, if e.g. space and branding weren't an issue?> A reliable logo, a value and colour which is backed up on line with information for B2B and consumers alike.
<Q: Is there anything that you purposely avoid including on packaging labels?> Avoid too many colours, do not generalise or report averages. What is needed is the reliability of granular detail and accuracy in calculating.
<Q: What do you most want consumers to take away from the text on packaging labels? Is there any messaging that you feel isn't landing with consumers?> Keep It Simple - its either Good, OK or Not good.
<Q: Do you have any other thoughts or comments you would like to share?> Labelling should be provided by an organisation that is independent from producing packaging, pack / filler of products or subsequently retail. Whilst each industry should proactively contribute to the label and value reported. The label claims should be audited annually for authenticity.
